CMM20: THROUGH THE YEARS

The Diploma in Communications & Media Management (CMM) is a course in Temasek Polytechnic's School of Business. Being in the School of Business, CMM's curriculum is designed to allow students to understand the media landscape with a business mindset. The course equips students with storytelling skills and techniques in digital communication tools and narratives. Business elements are also incorporated into the curriculum for students to gain holistic insights into the media business sector and operations. CMM students will graduate with the ability to produce media contents, products and services that are relevant for this digital era. 

CMM started out in 2001 with a smaller cohort size than today. In fact, the pioneer batch of students saw just 58 students! The curriculum was organised with students given the option of three specialisations - Journalism & Publishing, Broadcast Journal and Media Marketing. However, with the demands of the dynamic industry requiring graduates to be equipped with knowledge and skills in different aspects of media, the course structure was revamped to ensure a CMM graduate is ready for any job in the media and communications industry.

Today, CMM students get to experience a bit of everything from Journalism to Integrated Media Production. Indeed, every graduate will be confident to manage a complexity of media roles and functions and perhaps, be a successful mediapreneur one day. With lecturers who have had their fair-share in the media industry together with industry level equipment and software like Zetta, all students who have completed or will complete their diploma journey in CMM, will have a learning experience like no other.
